Students benefit from role models. We the teachers, in our role as students, can as well benefit from role models. After watching the three videos from Week 2 assignments, I feel encouraged by these people, as all of them have characteristics of the administrator I want to become.
From Johnny Briseno I take that no decisions are to be made without looking at the data, that you do not have to reinvent the wheel, and that a few minutes of research could save you time or even make you solve a problem. Dr. Chargois made a good point when he says that we are accountable for ALL the students, and those days in which teachers would say “oh, I just touched one kid” are gone; teachers are out there to make all students success. Finally, Dr. Lewis said a key word in research: practical. Research has to be practical to the environment.
